Is it getting easier to study in Australia?

From the beginning of this month, i.e. 1 Jul 2016, the federal government of Australia has introduced Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF). Due to this introduction, there are some major changes in the student visa application process and the government feels that this framework will ease out the process of obtaining a visa for international students. If you are wondering what are the major changes under this framework, then pay attention to the following points. Reduction in Student visa subclasses: The main prominent change that is going to happen is that the number of subclasses under which an international student used to apply for a visa to Australia has significantly reduced. Instead of 8 subclasses, now there is only one subclass for students irrespective the level of the course one is applying to, and a separate one for students’ guardians (590).

New Immigration risk framework: Instead of deciding the risk factor based on which field of study a student is applying to, in this new framework, the risk factor will be decided based on a student’s home country and the study provider. This change will definitely tighten the visa process in terms of checking the student’s proficiency in English language and financial abilities to bear educational expenditures in Australia. Upon furnishing proper evidences to prove their eligibility in these two aspects, a student will be marked as a low risk candidate and will be allowed to go through the streamlined penitentiary framework. This added restriction would ensure that non-genuine students are not given visas and would also stop the flourishing business of many illicit educational agencies that are bringing students from various developing countries by fake promises of giving admission to leading Australian universities. • Course Transfers: In this new framework, international students need to hold their Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level if they want to transfer to a new course from the one they choose at the time of receiving a student visa. Students applied to doctoral degree, however, are exempted if they decide to pursue another master degree. Other students have to undergo the visa process from the very beginning if they want to transfer to course of lower level from a higher level one. This procedure will in a way, ensure that once a student joins a course, he or she is adequately qualified for the same.Assignment experts can be excellent guides for curse transfers.

• Arrangement for Packaging: Students are eligible to package or couple two or more courses together under a single student visa, provided there is a progression from the former to the later. Even, education service providers can also tie up with other providers to facilitate the transition of a student to higher level courses, if both the providers have some commercial agreements for that purpose. In short, it can be concluded that all of these procedures are carefully designed to stop the rising influx of non-genuine students in Australia, who are instead of completing their courses ending up mostly in the unorganized labor markets.
